Graphic design and visual communication services
Need a logo for your new venture but no idea where to start?
Want to show off your achievements in a striking annual report?
With over 15 years as a graphic designer and visual communicator, I will guide you through what can be a mysterious, jargon-filled process.
My pared-back visual style lends itself to clear, uncluttered communication, allowing key messages to shine.
Here's how I've guided others...

Logo and visual identity
Digital You CIC
Sharon needed a logo and identity for her brand new not-for-profit venture aimed at tackling digital exclusion in the north east of England.
The brief? Create a warm, approachable and robust identity, with a colour palette to reflect the varied landscape of the north east region.
Thus, the 'wifi-sunrise' logo was born. I developed a wider visual language around the logo including a versatile and accessible colour palette, shapes and motifs. It was supported by a comprehensive visual identity style guide.
Annual report design
1001 Critical Days Foundation
The 1001 Critical Days Foundation truly hit the ground running in their first year, achieving so many fantastic things.
They asked me to design their first annual report - a 70 page document for stakeholders, designed for both print and online use.
Using their existing visual identity, I extended it through infographics, icons and motifs, leaving them with not just a cohesive annual report, but also a library of graphics, and stand-alone infographics to use on other channels.

Logo and visual identity
MiraGold
Kathryn's new consultancy, MiraGold, needed a professional, elegant look.
'Mira' = 'wonderful', and also the name of a bright star in the constellation Cetus. So, a star it had to be!

Transformers North
I was commissioned to create a logo and identity for Transformers North, a brilliant social enterprise working with vulnerable adults to build their skills and confidence through outdoor improvement activities.
The logo needed to work well on t-shirts, banners and leaflets as well as all the usual online locations.
Director, Becky, was delighted with outcome.

Logo and business stationery
Abbott Land & Planning
New start-up, Abbott Land & Planning, wanted to get up and running quickly and with as little fuss as possible.
Key to this was establishing a logo and visual identity, then attending to basics such a letter template and business card.
The resulting logo makes a clear statement and lends itself well to use online and in print, with plenty of potential to expand the identity as the business grows.
What my clients say
Gráinne is that very rare combination of sheer talent, dedication as well as being a genuinely lovely person.
It was a joy to work with her for the charity vintage fair I was organising, and her design work was just perfect.
Hannah Williams-Blakey
SLATE Leeds
Working with Gráinne has been a delight. Her ability to understand what I wanted from a brand and to translate this into a final product is great.
Collaboration has been key to this work and Grainne was able to listen. Interpret and guide me to the right solution that represents my community interest company. Her design skills combined with a fun and warm personality are an ideal combination. I have no hesitation in recommending her.
