About me
I'm Gráinne and I've been creating since I was able to grasp my first chubby crayon.

I did some nice normal stuff too eventually
Fast-forward from my Take Hart gallery and Blue Peter sticky back plastic days – not to mention my nonsense poetry teens – I studied English at university. Twelve years later, I scratched a growing itch and enrolled on a part-time degree in Graphic Communication, graduating in 2014. So, you could say I'm officially qualified to do words and pictures.

I have 30 years' experience across a range of communications, design and administrative roles, primarily in the voluntary and public sectors. In 2025, I struck out on my own and Studio GRÁINNE was born.

My specialisms
As a proud multi-hyphenate (writer-designer-maker), I pride myself on being creative and versatile, bringing a carefully mixed cocktail of skills to each project.
I particularly love to:
-
Help. It's as simple as that – I love helping and making a difference.
-
Simplify and distil complex information, both written and visual.
-
Generate ideas and creative solutions.
-
Learn new things, whether it's getting my head around a new subject or adding a new skill to my repertoire.
-
Plan and organise. A big 'yes please' to project plans, templates, checklists and spreadsheets.
-
Focus and get things done in our increasingly distracted world.

I work from my home studio in Leeds, with a helping paw from my most handsome tabby cat, Mogulous (who, as luck would have it, has a keen eye for colour).
